Exploration remains on hold, with holding costs shared 60/40.
AcquisitionVolcanic Gold provides update on drilling at Motagua Norte property, and recent developments in Guatemala
The first-pass drilling campaign at the Motagua Norte Project in Guatemala has concluded, with 13 holes drilled testing a range of targets. Results received from the initial holes testing vertical and north-dipping veins at and near the Veta Madre Fault indicate the gold-bearing quartz boulders at the Mila target did not originate from these structures; assays are pending for the final four holes, which intercepted several veins but showed no visible gold. Following the April 12, 2024 appointment of a new Minister of the Environment, Volcanic will monitor developments at Cerro Blanco and Escobal before committing further funds to Guatemala and is assessing opportunities elsewhere.
Drill resultsVolcanic Gold provides update on drilling at Motagua Norte property, Guatemala
The first two diamond drill holes (MIDD-24-04 and 05) at the Mila target on the Motagua Norte project in Guatemala cut the broad Veta Madre Fault but returned no anomalous samples, indicating the gold-bearing colluvium fields did not originate from that structure. Mapping upslope to the south identified another large quartz structure, Veta Padre, with visible gold in narrow south-dipping veins between the two. Drilling has shifted to those veins and stockwork zones. Volcanic can earn 60% from Radius Gold.

CorporateVolcanic Gold provides further update on drilling at Motagua Norte property, Guatemala
Two drill holes have now been completed across the Veta Madre Fault Zone at the Motagua Norte project in Guatemala, a joint venture with Radius Gold. Hole MIDD-24-004 passed through 98 m of serpentinite, reaching the fault zone about 120 m below surface, and remained in veining and stockwork schists for 63 m to 161 m; MIDD-24-005, 100 m along strike west, cut 39 m of altered rock with strong stockwork quartz veining. Both were drilled at -45 degrees; true widths are unknown. Holes MIDD-006 and 007 were abandoned after rods became stuck in colluvium. Assays from ALS Laboratory, Vancouver are expected in early May.
Drill resultsVolcanic Gold update on drilling at Mila Gold Discovery, Guatemala
First-pass drilling at the Motagua Norte Project in Guatemala, a joint venture with Radius Gold, has cut 6 m to 15 m of colluvium composed of quartz and schist float, locally bearing visible gold, before passing into a serpentinite package, indicating the gold-bearing boulders moved downslope from a structural corridor named the Veta Madre Fault Zone. Drilling of the Mila zone target within that corridor is underway, with additional drill pads being prepared along strike. Of roughly 420 surface rock chip samples, over one hundred exceeded 10 g/t gold, including twenty-one over 100 g/t and a maximum of 692 g/t gold.

AcquisitionVolcanic Gold Mines commences drilling at the Mila Gold Discovery, Guatemala
First-pass diamond drilling has begun at the Mila Gold Discovery within the Motagua Norte Project in central Guatemala, with 1,000 to 3,000 m planned to test the width, grade and geometry of gold mineralization. Mila is defined over a 250 m by 600 m area; of about 420 surface rock chip samples, over one hundred exceeded 10 g/t gold, twenty-one exceeded 100 g/t gold, to a maximum of 692 g/t gold. Volcanic can earn 60% of the Cirilo I licence from Radius Gold.
