Over 600,000 metres of drilling have been completed on Queensway since 2020 and a 70,000-metre drill program is currently underway, to be completed by year-end 2025. The Company has outlined multiple near-surface, high-grade gold discoveries over a 22 km strike extent and recent drilling continues to yield new discoveries along strike and down dip of known gold zones, pointing to the district-scale potential of the nearly 175,000-hectare property that covers a 110 km strike extent along two prospective fault zones. With this experience in hand, Keith and the New Found Gold management team intend to advance the Queensway Gold Project from an advanced- stage exploration project to a gold producing mine, as well as bring the Hammerdown Gold Project into full commercial production. Hammerdown GoldProject
The Hammerdown gold deposit is located approximately 5 km southwest of the Town of King’s Point and approximately 15 km northwest of the Town of Springdale in Newfoundland & Labrador. Hammerdown was developed and operated by Richmont Mines between the years 2000 and 2004 with a cut-off grade of 8.5 g/t Au while gold prices averaged US$325/oz. During its operation a total of 291,400 tonnes of ore were mined and milled, at an average grade of 15.83 g/t Au, recovering a total of 143,000 ounces of gold. All of the ore was processed at the Nugget Pond mill with an average gold recovery of 97.1%. Richmont Mines halted mining in 2004 due to low gold prices.
Queensway GoldProject
The Queensway Gold Project encompasses approximately 175,000 hectares, covering more than 110 km of strike on two primary fault zones: Appleton (AFZ) and Joe Batt’s Pond (JBP) that are spatially associated with the key gold discoveries made to date. Strategically located on the Trans-Canada Highway, 15 km west of Gander, the project is divided by Gander Lake into Queensway North and Queensway South.
