Camino Corp.’s mission is to responsibly develop and deliver copper resources essential for the global energy transition and electrification. We are committed to building value through exploration, development, and near-term production, starting with the Puquios copper mine in Chile, while fostering strong partnerships, protecting the environment, and supporting the communities where we operate. Camino is executing its strategy to build a copper platform by advancing the construction‑ready Puquios mine in Chile, the project poised to deliver near‑term cash flow. In partnership with Nittetsu (50/50 Joint Venture) and supported by Denham Capital, we are now focused on financing and constructing the Puquios copper mine with envisioned copper production by 2027, leveraging existing infrastructure and experienced operators. This near-term production asset will transition Camino from explorer to copper producer, funding further growth at Los Chapitos and additional targets in Peru. Certain o
Active mining projects and exploration sites
The Los Chapitos project represents a style of deposit known as IOCG (Iron Oxide-Copper-Gold) that extends down the Peruvian coast into Chile and includes such deposits as Mina Justa (Peru), Mantos Blancos (Chile), and La Candelaria (Chile), to name but a few. IOCG deposits are particularly attractive exploration targets due to their high grades and frequent coproduct metals (gold and silver).
The project consists of claims that cover 7,110 hectares, and the Maria Cecilia exploration target is believed to be at the heart of the porphyry complex that includes the Toropunto Epithermal deposit and the Emmanuel Porphyry deposit. The skarn and porphyry system at Maria Cecilia is considered to have some geological similarities to one of Peru’s largest copper mines, Antamina, located 100 km away.
Local geology comprises predominantly continental sediments ranging from NeoProterozoic to Lower Paleozoic in age, the latter being in part weakly metamorphosed by Tertiary granitic and andesitic intrusions. The copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) mineralization at Plata Dorada is structurally controlled and consists of polymetallic quartz sulphide veins averaging 0.5 to 1.5m wide.
Region: Coquimbo (La Serena), ChileStatus: Advanced Exploration StageOwnership: 50% Joint Venture with Nittetsu Mining Co., Ltd.Deposit Type: Supergene Porphyry: The Puquios deposit is a weathered copper–molybdenum porphyry system. Copper oxides out-crop at surface and are underlain by a supergene copper enrichment zone. The Puquios Project remains open at depth with primary copper mineralization, with substantial exploration upside.
